Black Eagles, the Air Show They Are Attending After 10 Years Is...

[Asia Economy Yang Nak-gyu, Military Specialist Reporter] The Air Force's special flight team, the ‘Black Eagles,’ will participate in a UK airshow for the first time in 10 years. The Black Eagles operate the T-50B aircraft, which is based on the domestically produced supersonic advanced trainer T-50.

The Black Eagles are scheduled to consecutively participate in the Southport Airshow (July 9-10), the RIAT Airshow (July 11-17), and the Farnborough Airshow (July 18-24). They previously participated in the UK airshow for the first time since their establishment in 2012.

The Waddington Airshow is the largest UK Air Force airshow, held annually with participation from about 10 countries and approximately 140,000 spectators. The RIAT, the world's largest military airshow, started in 1971 and attracts about 20 countries and 200,000 spectators each year. The Farnborough Airshow, considered one of the world's top three airshows along with the Paris and Singapore airshows, is held biennially under the auspices of the UK Defence Security and Industry Organisation (UKTIDSO). It features participation from 40 countries and 1,500 civil and military defense industry companies.

At that time, under the command of the flight squadron leader, eight pilots performed a 25-minute special flight demonstration with the T-50B aircraft. The response was enthusiastic. The Black Eagles swept awards including the Waddington International Airshow Grand Prize, the RIAT International Airshow Grand Prize, and the Popularity Award, showcasing their excellence to the world.
