[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jong-il] Jungnang-gu will present the Seoul Rose Festival opening performance "Jungnang, People Flower" at the canola flower field in Junghwa Sports Park within Jungnang Rose Park at 5 p.m. on the 15th.
"Jungnang, People Flower" contains stories from Jungnang residents submitted through the 2022 Seoul Rose Festival's resident story contest "You and the Rose."
The performance will feature a total of seven stories, including "Grateful yet Heartbreaking Memories of Youth, the Restaurant Grandmother," "Stories of Anxious but Strong Youth," and "The Story of My Mother and Me."
Planned as the opening performance of the 2022 Seoul Rose Festival, the show is directed by Jung Anna, a board member of the Korea Theater Welfare Foundation and head of the theater troupe "Susupabori." Actors Kim Sunhwa A, Kim Sunhwa B, Seo Jeongyeon, Kim Youngsun, Kim Junghwan, Lee Hanhee, and Lee Sehee will shine in the play. Additionally, musical performances by Jungnang artists Somin, Tamir, Lime Orange, Sososo, and Jang Hansem will enrich the show.
Yu Kyung-ae, CEO of the Jungnang Cultural Foundation, which organizes the 2022 Seoul Rose Festival, said, "We planned the performance incorporating precious stories sent by residents," adding, "We hope the warm stories of this performance will bring comfort to the residents."
The district will continue the 2022 Seoul Rose Festival under the theme "Invitation to Everyday Life, Glad to be Jungnang!" until the 22nd. Visitors can enjoy various experience and performance programs operated under three themes: Children, Parents, and Rose Week at Jungnang Rose Park. Dongdaemun-gu (Mayor Yoo Deok-yeol) is recruiting 207 participants for the second half public job project by the 20th as part of employment measures for vulnerable groups.
The public job project is aimed at providing income support and livelihood assistance to low-income and employment-vulnerable groups. The recruitment for the second half includes 189 positions for the Safe Job Project and 18 for the Community Job Project, totaling 207 positions.
The project period starts on July 1, with the Safe Job Project running until December 20 and the Community Job Project until October 31. Participants will be assigned to district office departments and community service centers to support public service tasks, digital transformation projects, and green environment projects.
Working hours are up to 6 hours per day and vary by project. Wages are calculated based on this year's minimum hourly wage (9,160 KRW).
Applicants must be residents aged 18 or older with work ability, whose combined personal and family assets are 400 million KRW or less, and whose household income is 70% or less of the median income based on health insurance premiums. Interested residents can apply in person at their local community service center with ID from the 11th to the 20th.
After the application deadline, final participants will be selected through screening based on asset, income requirements, and participation frequency, with individual notifications expected around June 27 for those selected.
