Dongseo University Student Park Beomjin Selected for 12 Million KRW Production Support in Independent Art Film Short Category Park Beomjin, a third-year student in the Department of Film at Dongseo University.


[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Hwang Dooyul] Park Beomjin, a third-year student in the Department of Film at Dongseo University, has been finally selected for the ‘2022 First Half Independent Art Film Production Support Short Film Category.’


Organized by the Korean Film Council, the ‘2022 First Half Independent Art Film Production Support Short Film Category’ is a project that has been conducted since 2013 to lead diverse film cultures and promote diversification and revitalization of the domestic video production environment.


A total of 482 works participated in the short film category production support contest in the first half of the year, and after first and second rounds of document screening and a final interview, 25 works were finally selected.


“Super Hero,” directed by Park Beomjin, tells the story of an elementary school student named Beom who dreams of becoming a baseball player but repeatedly loses in baseball matches against neighborhood older boys who bully him. Beom dreams of revenge and eventually meets his role model, player Choi Dongwon, which leads to the story’s development. The film received a total production support of 12 million KRW.
