[Asia Economy Reporter Kwak Minjae] The Small and Medium Business Corporation (SBC) announced on the 9th that it signed a “Gyeongju-type Tomorrow Filling Deduction Support Project Business Agreement” with Gyeongju City at the Gyeongju City Hall annex in Dongcheon-dong, Gyeongbuk, to stabilize employment and enhance competitiveness of local small and medium venture enterprises.

The signing ceremony was attended by Ahn Jeong-gon, head of the SBC Job Headquarters, and Kim Hojin, acting mayor of Gyeongju City, among other officials. Both parties agreed to cooperate in attracting excellent young talents newly to small and medium venture enterprises located in Gyeongju City and creating a stable employment culture. They also pledged to work together to spread ESG management and create a business-friendly environment.

The Gyeongju-type Tomorrow Filling Deduction is a project that supports part of the company’s burden (100,000 KRW per month) for the Youth Employee Tomorrow Filling Deduction for one year. Eligibility for enrollment includes young employees aged 15 to 34 who have been employed for more than six months at small and medium venture enterprises in Gyeongju City. Starting early May, up to five employees per company, totaling 50 people, will be recruited.

Kim Hojin, acting mayor of Gyeongju City, said, “Through continuous cooperation with SBC, local small and medium venture enterprises will be able to secure competitiveness through job stability, and young workers will be provided with various welfare benefits, creating opportunities for labor and management to grow together.”

Ahn Jeong-gon, head of the SBC Job Headquarters, said, “We express our gratitude to Gyeongju City for actively cooperating in the win-win type Tomorrow Filling Deduction to create youth jobs and establish an employment safety net,” adding, “We will continue to cooperate with Gyeongju City to help spread ESG (Environment, Social, Governance) management among local small and medium venture enterprises and focus support on companies engaged in key local industries to back their growth.”

The Youth Employee Tomorrow Filling Deduction is a policy-based deduction project that pays workers a lump sum of about 30 million KRW upon maturity after five years by adding government support funds (worth about 10 million KRW) to the amount jointly accumulated by companies and young employees. Young workers gain opportunities for long-term employment and lump-sum savings, while small businesses benefit from improved productivity and competitiveness through stable retention of excellent personnel.

Meanwhile, detailed information regarding recruitment for the Gyeongju-type Tomorrow Filling Deduction Support Project can be found on the Gyeongju City website or through the SBC Gyeongbuk Eastern Branch.
