[Asia Economy Intern Reporter Kim Se-eun] Legoland Korea Resort in Chuncheon, Gangwon Province, welcomed its first weekend since its official opening, but there was no crowd.
On the 8th, Legoland opened its doors at 9:40 AM, 20 minutes earlier than the scheduled admission time of 10 AM, to facilitate smooth entry for visitors. Unlike Children's Day, the opening day, there was no large crowd gathering before the entrance.
Children holding their parents' hands and running to ride the Dragon Coaster, Legoland's most popular ride, were also noticeable in the 'open run' line.
Although the day was somewhat cloudy, family visitors enjoyed their holiday by taking commemorative photos with colorful Lego models and riding various attractions.
On the opening day, the 5th, visitors flocked from early morning, causing the waiting line to stretch up to 1.5 km at one point, and it took over an hour to pass through the main gate. On that day, about 12,000 people visited Legoland.
On the first weekend after the opening, the 7th and 8th, relatively fewer crowds gathered. Thanks to this, visitors were able to enjoy the facilities comfortably.
The traffic chaos that had been a concern before the opening did not occur either.
The Chuncheon city government had requested Legoland to limit the number of daily visitors to 13,000 on weekends in preparation for possible traffic congestion.
