Carnation and Goods Delivery for Parents' Day... Active Donation Events in the Distribution Sector

Carnation and Goods Delivery for Parents' Day... Active Donation Events in the Distribution Sector CU's Campaign to Share the Heart of Our Flowers.

[Asia Economy Reporter Jeon Jinyoung] On Parents' Day, the distribution industry actively held donation events such as delivering carnations to senior centers.

According to the industry on the 8th, BGF Retail is launching the 'Sharing Our Flower Hearts Campaign' in collaboration with the Korea Flower Farmers Cooperative to celebrate Family Month in May.

This campaign was planned to promote the consumption of carnations and plants from domestic flower farms. Recently, the domestic flower market has been suffering a triple hardship due to a decline in flower consumption for over two years caused by the prolonged COVID-19 pandemic, and the difficulty in raising prices despite increased raw material and labor costs because of the large-scale import of cheap flowers from China and Vietnam.

CU specially produced with the Korea Flower Farmers Cooperative carnation corsages made with domestically grown carnations, air-purifying plants such as ivy and hoya, and carnations made from soap paper, arranged together in carnation flower baskets.

Asung Daiso delivered happiness boxes containing hygiene products, convenience foods, and bathroom supplies to homeless people living in nursing facilities in the Seoul Metropolitan Eunpyeong Village.

The happiness box is Asung Daiso's representative social contribution project that delivers daily necessities to socially vulnerable groups, veterans' families, small business owners, and families affected by disasters, with the contents tailored according to the recipients' needs.

An Asung Daiso official said, "In Family Month, which conveys love and gratitude, we prepared this happiness box to help make Parents' Day warm for everyone, even if only a little," and added, "Daiso plans to continue supporting local communities through happiness boxes and other initiatives."

On the 6th, Nonghyup Distribution employees visited the Seongsim Senior Welfare Center in Seocho-gu and delivered fruits and carnations to the elderly.

A Nonghyup Distribution official stated, "Celebrating the 27th anniversary of Nonghyup Distribution, we will continue to be a company that helps neighbors in need in the local community and delivers warm care through ongoing social contribution activities."
