Gokseong-gun's 'Gokseong Kkaebi Jeongsik' Attracts Popularity Among Visitors

Goblin Club's Hearty Feast That Seems Magically Made

Main Dish: Charcoal-Grilled Black Pork Full of Smoky Flavor

Gokseong-gun's 'Gokseong Kkaebi Jeongsik' Attracts Popularity Among Visitors

[Gokseong=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Cha Jong-sun] The new culinary delight of Gokseong-gun, Jeollanam-do, 'Gokseong Kkaebi Jeongsik,' is captivating the taste buds of visitors.

Kkaebi Jeongsik was developed by Gokseong-gun in consultation with Chef Kang Leo, in collaboration with local restaurants.

It is called Kkaebi Jeongsik because it is as plentiful as if magically made with a goblin's club.

True to its name, it features a generous spread of Gokseong's specialties such as black pork, taro, melon, and wasabi all on one table.

The main dish of Kkaebi Jeongsik is black pork grilled over charcoal, full of smoky flavor.

Side dishes like wasabi water kimchi and baby melon pickles stimulate the appetite with their unique tastes.

The sharp wasabi aroma of the wasabi water kimchi refreshes the palate, neatly balancing the richness that might otherwise feel greasy.

The baby melon pickles offer a fresh and crunchy texture that brings a lively feeling.

Among visitors, there is a humorous saying that the Kkaebi Jeongsik is so delicious that it disappears 'ttukttak' (in a snap) while eating.

Kkaebi Jeongsik can be enjoyed at three restaurants located in Gokseong-eup.

Since the end of last year, Kkaebi Jeongsik has been offered at Meran Myeongga, a specialty restaurant, as well as Saengseonnara & Danbi, and Gokseong Bonddae.

Though it has been less than half a year since its launch, it has already established itself as a beloved dish for people of all ages with its abundant table setting.

In particular, while the basic composition is similar, each of the three establishments differentiates the taste, which has also been well received.

As a result, more people are enjoying the different charms of Kkaebi Jeongsik by visiting each restaurant in turn.

An official from Gokseong-gun said, “The 12th Gokseong World Rose Festival will be held at Seomjingang Train Village on the 21st. We expect that many more visitors will taste the new Gokseong menu, Kkaebi Jeongsik, and spread the word.”
