[Asia Economy Reporter Lim Hye-sun] KT Gangbuk·Gangwon Regional Headquarters announced on the 5th that the number of stores in the northern metropolitan area and Gangwon Province adopting KT's 'Artificial Intelligence (AI) Service Robot' has surpassed 100.

The AI service robot is an autonomous driving robot with serving, clearing, and patrolling functions. It features complete autonomous driving technology that requires no additional installations and offers various types of trays, enabling stable service operation in any store environment.

Equipped with cutting-edge software such as 3D spatial mapping and autonomous driving technology, it flexibly avoids obstacles and moves to its destination. In particular, the robot's tray is equipped with its own weight sensor detection technology, so when a customer removes items from the table, it automatically returns to the waiting area.

The AI service robot performs repetitive tasks such as serving, allowing store employees to focus on key duties like customer service and cooking, resulting in high satisfaction among small business customers. In fact, the majority of customers who have experienced the robot in the northern metropolitan area and Gangwon Province continue to use it.

Beyond the food service industry, the AI service robot supports digital innovation for small businesses in various sectors such as screen golf courses, hospitals, and hotels. In Goyang City, the introduction of AI service robots is underway in industries requiring serving tasks, including large screen golf courses and hotels.
