[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jong-il] Kim Mi-kyung, the Democratic Party candidate for Eunpyeong District Mayor, held an election office opening ceremony on the 4th and officially launched her election campaign.

The opening ceremony, held at the election office located near Exit 3 of Yeonsinnae Station, was attended by about 500 Eunpyeong residents including party members, religious groups, and professional organizations, creating a great turnout.

In particular, Song Young-gil, the Democratic Party candidate for Seoul Mayor, Cho Hee-yeon, candidate for Seoul Superintendent of Education, National Assembly members Woo Sang-ho, Jung Cheong-rae, Park Ju-min, Yang Jeong-suk, former Seoul City Council member Lee Hyun-chan, and the Democratic Party Eunpyeong local election candidates One Team also attended to show their support.

Mayor Kim Mi-kyung stated, “I declare my candidacy for the 8th term as Eunpyeong District Mayor for the continuous progress and new leap of Eunpyeong,” and appealed for support by saying, “Please equip me with the strong engine of a re-elected mayor so that the changes in Eunpyeong do not stop here.”

She continued, “Currently, about 100 large and small developments are underway in Eunpyeong, and a capable worker who can skillfully lead Eunpyeong’s development without delay is needed,” emphasizing, “Only re-elected Mayor Kim Mi-kyung, who does not need to waste time understanding the work, can devote herself to Eunpyeong’s development skillfully from day one.”

On this day, along with her candidacy declaration, Mayor Kim announced 30 policy pledges across five major areas for the 20-year future of Eunpyeong.

Key pledges include ▲ New economic and transportation hub Eunpyeong ▲ Eunpyeong where anyone wants to live ▲ Eunpyeong as a representative city of culture and arts ▲ Eunpyeong good for raising children ▲ Warm and comprehensive welfare city Eunpyeong.

Mayor Kim said, “Kim Mi-kyung, who knows Eunpyeong’s past and takes responsibility for its present, will design a new future for Eunpyeong together with the residents,” and added, “With a 94.8% pledge fulfillment rate, Kim Mi-kyung, who keeps her promises, will surely achieve continuous development of Eunpyeong.”
