What Did Seong Jang-hyun, Yongsan District Mayor, Say While Commending 29 Exemplary Children and Youth?

Encouraging Exemplary Children and Youth in Celebration of Children's Week and Youth Month in May

[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jong-il] On the afternoon of the 4th at 4 PM, Yongsan-gu Mayor Seong Jang-hyun awarded certificates of commendation to 29 exemplary children and youth from the district in the main conference room of the district office.

This was to encourage children and youth who serve as role models in celebration of Children's Week and Youth Month in May.

The commendation ceremony lasted 30 minutes and proceeded in the order of the national anthem, awarding of certificates, congratulatory speeches, and commemorative photos, with 27 of the 29 awardees (13 elementary students, 9 middle school students, 6 high school students, and 1 university student) and their guardians in attendance.

The recipients were recommended in advance by principals of elementary, middle, and high schools located in Yongsan-gu and heads of child and youth facilities, and were finally selected through review and resolution by the merit review committee.

Mayor Seong Jang-hyun of Yongsan-gu said, “You who have been selected as exemplary children and youth are the pride of Yongsan. I hope you will freely pursue your dreams with the thought that you are the owners of this country.”
