Election Committee Chairs Kang Dae-kwang and Lee Jae-ho Recruited to Realize 'Happy Gokseong for Residents'

[Gokseong=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Cha Jong-sun] Lee Sang-cheol, the Democratic Party of Korea's preliminary candidate for Gokseong County Governor, launched his main election campaign committee with an opening ceremony at 10 a.m. on the 4th under the slogan "Happy Gokseong for the Residents."

The opening ceremony was attended by about 1,000 Gokseong residents and supporters, including Kim Young-rok, Governor of Jeollanam-do seeking re-election, and Seo Dong-yong, member of the National Assembly for Suncheon-Gwangyang-Gokseong-Gurye district, lending their support to the launch of Lee Sang-cheol's campaign for the June 1 local elections.

In his greeting, preliminary candidate Lee Sang-cheol said, "Through 12 years of legislative activities in the county council and provincial council, I have had the time to be evaluated by the residents for my qualifications and abilities," adding, "I would like to take this opportunity to thank the residents who gave me great support in the Democratic Party's Gokseong County Governor primary, and from now on, I will devote all my efforts solely to the residents to create a Gokseong where residents are happy."

Lee Sang-cheol especially emphasized that he is a prepared and sincere candidate, stating, "I will efficiently and meticulously implement key pledges such as providing happiness allowances twice a year to all residents, promoting customized regional development and revitalization of commercial districts by Gokseong County zones, and the Seomjin Riverbank park project."

Jeollanam-do Governor Kim Young-rok said in his congratulatory speech, "Lee Sang-cheol, who served 8 years as a county council member and 4 years as a provincial council member, is undoubtedly the best candidate for the 8th term of the Gokseong County Governor with expertise and sincerity."

National Assembly member Seo Dong-yong said in his congratulatory speech, "The competence of candidate Lee Sang-cheol is recognized by all Gokseong residents.

Please choose Democratic Party candidate Lee Sang-cheol, who will design Gokseong's century-long plan for the next four years," he earnestly appealed for support.

At the same time, at the opening ceremony, former Gokseong County Council members Kang Dae-kwang and Lee Jae-ho, who were preliminary candidates for Gokseong County Governor in the June 1 local elections, were officially announced as co-chairmen of Lee Sang-cheol's election campaign committee, further boosting the election atmosphere in support of candidate Lee Sang-cheol.

Meanwhile, during his time as a Jeollanam-do provincial council member, preliminary candidate Lee Sang-cheol traveled throughout the Gokseong area, listening attentively to even small voices and embracing residents' difficulties and pains with humility. He has a reputation for having a wide and diverse network from local to central government through decades of party activities, having served as president of the Gokseong Youth Association, president of the Gokseong Junior Chamber, secretary general of the Jeonnam Junior Chamber, secretary general of the Namdo Forum, member and chairman of the 5th and 6th Gokseong County Council, and as the 11th Jeollanam-do provincial council member.
