Previously, nominee Han had shown a critical stance toward the Geomsu Wanbak bill. At the press conference for his nomination on the 13th of last month, he said, "If the Geomsu Wanbak bill passes, the people will suffer greatly." Then, when he first arrived at the confirmation hearing preparation office two days later, he said, "I think the public will be curious about what happened over the past five years that led to an unjustified midnight escape drama."

Meanwhile, the confirmation hearing for nominee Han, originally scheduled for the 4th, has been postponed to next week. The National Assembly's Legislation and Judiciary Committee canceled the hearing schedule on that day and decided to set a separate schedule next week through consultation between ruling and opposition party secretaries. It is reported that the hearing was delayed due to issues such as witness consultations.
