Gwangju Buk-gu Signs Agreement with Community-Based Service Agencies to Identify Welfare Blind Spots

[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Yukbong] On the 3rd, Buk-gu, Gwangju City announced that it signed a business agreement with three community-based work promotion organizations to "discover and support welfare blind spots."

This agreement is the first case in Gwangju City and was prepared to cooperate with water meter readers, post office delivery workers, and city gas safety inspectors to find vulnerable households and connect welfare services.

The signing ceremony was attended by Moon In, Mayor of Buk-gu, Bae Gwangchun, Director of the Northeast Waterworks Office of Gwangju City Waterworks Headquarters, Moon Geunseok, Director of Buk Gwangju Post Office, and Park Sangbung, Head of the Northeast City Gas Customer Center of Haeyang Energy.

The agreement includes ▲ reporting vulnerable households via the KakaoTalk channel ‘Gwangju Buk-gu Hope Mailbox’ ▲ counseling and welfare service support for vulnerable households ▲ regular education and welfare policy guidance for personnel performing the duties.

Buk-gu expects to find vulnerable households in various situations as about 180 personnel directly visit residents' homes.

Mayor Moon said, “I express my gratitude to the three organizations, including Buk Gwangju Post Office, which agreed to actively help find vulnerable households, and I will continue to strive to build a dense welfare safety net.”

Meanwhile, Buk-gu also signed a business agreement last month with three convenience store companies (230 stores) to discover welfare blind spots, focusing on resolving welfare blind spots through public-private cooperation.
