Achieving the Feat of Being Selected Four Consecutive Times in the World's Top 3 Design Awards
[Asia Economy Reporter Minyoung Kim] Hyundai Engineering & Construction won the main prize at the 'iF DESIGN AWARD 2022,' one of the world's top three design awards, with 'THE H Gate 32-8,' the main entrance gate of THE H La Class.
The iF DESIGN AWARD is a prestigious global design competition held annually in Germany since 1953. Along with the IDEA Design Award and the Red Dot Award, it is considered one of the world's top three design awards. The competition selects the best design products based on high standards of design innovation, user benefits, and social responsibility.
With this award, Hyundai Engineering & Construction has been selected for the iF Design Award for two consecutive years and has won one of the world's top three design awards four times in a row. This is significant as it demonstrates global recognition of Hyundai Engineering & Construction's outstanding design capabilities.
THE H Gate 32-8, the main entrance gate of THE H La Class located in Seocho-gu, Seoul, is an irregular structure created in collaboration with world-renowned installation artist Park Seon-gi. Starting from the exterior wall of the apartment building and flowing down to the ground, THE H Gate 32-8 showcases a naturally shaped form, exemplifying differentiated integrated exterior design for high-end housing.
The gate stands 8 meters tall and stretches 70 meters in length, a scale rarely seen in apartment complexes. Inside the finishing, thousands of LED light sources are installed to create a fantastic nighttime landscape, offering residents a special experience of entering the complex while enjoying everyday art.
Hyundai Engineering & Construction has previously introduced unique apartment exterior and gate designs, such as the Media Gate of THE H Xi Gaepo incorporating media art and the Gen-Z Gate applying Hillstate's distinctive patterns, showcasing Hyundai Engineering & Construction's specialized design expertise.
