KT, Three Telecom Benefits in May... Focus on Youth, Seniors, and Pets

[Asia Economy Reporter Cha Min-young]KT announced on the 3rd that it will launch new customized services for "Our Family" in May, the month of family, including the '5G Premium Family Bundle Youth Discount Promotion,' 'Mom Comfort Phone,' and 'Pet Dog Choice.'

5G Premium Family Bundle Youth Discount

The 5G Premium Family Bundle Youth Discount is a promotion where parents and children under 18 years old who subscribe to the premium family bundle with a 5G plan costing 80,000 KRW or more can apply for this promotion to receive an additional monthly discount of 5,500 KRW for the youth child. Applications are accepted until October 31.

The 'Super Plan Basic (monthly fee 80,000 KRW),' which offers unlimited 5G data and VIP membership, can be used for 34,500 KRW per month when applying the 25% discount on the plan, the 25% premium family bundle discount, and this promotion. Choosing the 'Season/Genie+ Basic Choice (monthly fee 90,000 KRW)' plan allows users to enjoy music and book benefits for 39,500 KRW per month.

Youth customers receiving this promotion can also simultaneously use 'Y-dum,' which is offered to customers aged 29 or younger. Y-dum provides discounts on smart device usage fees such as tablets worth about 19,800 KRW and doubles shared data, enabling comfortable viewing of video classes.

Mom Comfort Phone Equipped with Remote Intelligence

KT launched the Mom Comfort Phone through the KT website and nationwide stores. The Mom Comfort Phone is a Samsung Electronics Galaxy A12 device, and its biggest feature is the 'remote support' function designed for parents who have difficulty using smartphones. Remote support can be used by directly viewing the parent's phone screen through the Kiwi Family Care application (app) installed on the Mom Comfort Phone and explaining the functions.

KT also newly added the 'Parent Check-in' feature to the additional service 'KT Safety Box,' which monitors children's location and manages smartphone usage habits, in celebration of May. If the phone is not used for an extended period, an automatic alert is sent to the registered guardian to encourage checking on the parent living alone. KT Safety Box is a paid service costing 3,300 KRW per month but is provided free of charge with nine KT senior-exclusive plans, including 'Senior Basic (monthly fee 33,000 KRW).'

Pet Dog Choice and Two Types of Devices

Pet Dog Choice offers benefits for the 2.42 million pet dog households. When selecting the 'Pet Dog Care Device' benefit in the 5G Choice plan, customers receive support for the installment principal of 175,200 KRW for two pet dog devices over 24 months. However, customers bear the installment fees ranging from 48 to 861 KRW per month. Pet Dog Choice will be launched around mid-May.

The pet dog devices consist of the 'pevo IoT wearable,' which analyzes the pet dog's activity level, and the 'S Mobile Automatic Feeder,' which allows automatic feeding and video monitoring. Customers who additionally subscribe to the 'pevo Pet Dog Care Plan' by paying an extra 10,000 KRW receive medical support benefits of up to 1.3 million KRW annually.
