[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Hwang Du-yeol] On the 2nd, Gijang-gun, Busan, opened the ‘Gijang-gun Together Care Center Branch 3,’ an after-school care facility for elementary school students within the Gijang Light·Water·Dream Education Happiness Town.

The Together Care Center is a facility established to build a community-centered care system and eliminate blind spots in elementary school care. Any elementary school student in need of care can use it free of charge regardless of income.

Gijang-gun is the first in Busan to fully support the monthly program usage fee and snack costs with its own budget to reduce childcare burdens and activate public care services.

Branch 3 operates from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. (from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. during vacations) and has a capacity of 20 users.

The center director and care teachers provide care services such as ▲after-school daily life management ▲specialty aptitude guidance ▲community-linked program operation ▲meal and snack provision, and cultural experience activities.

Additionally, it has been remodeled into an integrated care center where children can enjoy culture, leisure, health, and welfare all in one place, providing a comfortable and safe environment for users.

The social welfare corporation The Good Save was entrusted with operating the center to enhance the professionalism of care.

Gijang-gun opened and has been operating the Together Care Center Branch 1 in November 2020 and Branch 2 in August last year to eliminate blind spots in elementary care and reduce childcare burdens for dual-income families.

A Gijang-gun official said, “We will actively support the care center to serve as a community care hub within the region and ensure that children can receive a joyful sanctuary.”
