[Asia Economy Reporter Oh Gyumin] The police have requested an arrest warrant for a man in his 50s who stabbed an acquaintance with a weapon following a dispute at an apartment in Guro-gu, Seoul.

The Seoul Guro Police Station announced on the 2nd that they arrested a man in his 50s, Mr. A, on suspicion of attempted murder on the 30th of last month and have applied for an arrest warrant.

Mr. A is accused of visiting Mr. B, a peer, at his home on the morning of the 30th of last month, getting into an argument, and stabbing him in the chest. It is known that Mr. A had prepared the weapon in advance to commit the crime.

Afterwards, Mr. A fled the scene but reported the incident to the police himself. The police, who responded to the report, apprehended Mr. A at the apartment entrance, confirmed bloodstains on his clothes, and arrested him. The police also seized the weapon used in the crime.

The police have applied for an arrest warrant after investigating Mr. A regarding his relationship with the victim, financial matters, and the motive for the crime. The suspect's pre-arrest interrogation (warrant hearing) is scheduled to be held at the Seoul Southern District Court later today.
