[Asia Economy Reporter Hyungsoo Park] Raon People announced on the 27th that it has obtained a patent for an "Artificial Intelligence (AI) Livestock Environment Investigation Method and Device" utilizing robots.
The patent is a technology where an AI robot moves around the livestock barn, measures the body temperature of the animals being raised, and captures video to identify abnormalities in real time.
Livestock diseases can lead to epidemics and death, making management and early detection through AI important. Until now, when abnormal signs appeared in livestock, caretakers measured the animals' body temperature and checked for diseases, which posed concerns about secondary infections or disease spread through humans or the environment. It is expected that these issues can be quickly resolved through the establishment of the patented smart livestock AI solution.
A Raon People official explained, "Through the AI patented technology, it is possible to quickly confirm the occurrence of diseases or abnormal symptoms, enabling early detection of epidemics and preventing their spread."
He added, "By securing meaningful data tailored to breeding purposes, such as measuring livestock birth and mortality rates and analyzing feed consumption based on activity levels, the growth environment can be effectively managed."
The livestock industry also expects that the combination of AI and robot technology will contribute to increasing farm income by reducing management and labor costs, as well as securing superior breeds through stable growth management.
