Kakao Webtoon Indonesia Service Officially Launched

Over 700 Titles Including 'Sanae Matseon' to Be Released Within the Year

Kakao Entertainment announced that its webtoon platform, Kakao Webtoon, will be available in Indonesia starting on the 27th. More than 700 titles, including "Sanae Matchmaking" and "Solo Leveling," will be offered within the year. Kakao Entertainment acquired the local webtoon company Neobazar in December 2018. Since January 2020, it has operated Neobazar's webtoon service, Webcomics, under the name KakaoPage Indonesia. The recent name change aims to strengthen ASEAN competitiveness and achieve global expansion. Park Jong-cheol, head of Kakao Entertainment's Global Business Division, stated, "Indonesia holds significant importance alongside North America in realizing our global vision. Based on our successful experiences in North America, Japan, Thailand, and Taiwan, as well as our premium intellectual property (IP), we will establish ourselves as the leading webtoon business in the local market."
