Two fields: Video & Music, Art & Design
[Asia Economy Reporter Han Jinju] The Ministry of Gender Equality and Family announced on the 27th that it will hold the "2022 Youth Contest on the Issue of Japanese Military Comfort Women Victims."
Now in its ninth year, this contest focuses on the issue of Japanese military 'comfort women' as well as violence, human rights, and peace in conflict situations.
The contest is held in two categories: 'Video & Music' and 'Art & Design,' with the submission period running from the 27th to September 16.
In the Video & Music category, works eligible for performance and screening include performances such as instrumental, original songs (songs, children's songs), musicals, dance, and self-produced videos (music videos, music dramas). In the Art & Design category, works eligible for exhibition and appreciation include designs, hand drawings, posters, crafts, comics, illustrations, and calligraphy.
Anyone from elementary, middle, high school, and university students, as well as out-of-school youth under the age of 24, can participate. Through judging, 24 works will be selected to receive awards such as the Prime Minister's Award, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Education Award, and Minister of Gender Equality and Family Award.
The contest guidelines can be found on the contest website, where last year's winning works and various educational materials to understand the issue of Japanese military 'comfort women' are also posted.
