Gwangju Gwangsan-gu Facilities Corporation, Water Rescue Certification Training


[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Jin-hyung] The Gwangsan-gu Facilities Management Corporation in Gwangju Metropolitan City conducted a water rescue qualification training for the general public.


The corporation announced on the 26th that it held water rescue qualification training for social value realization and the creation of a safe society together with users at the Bitgoeul National Sports Center swimming pool over two days from the 23rd to the 24th.


A total of 30 participants, including center members and citizens interested in rescue, took part in this training.


The qualification training on that day consisted of crisis response procedures, emergency treatment including cardiopulmonary resuscitation, and training on the use of water emergency rescue equipment, with evaluations conducted through written and practical exams.


Participant A said, “It was very good to be able to acquire emergency treatment and rescue skills in case of emergency patients at a public sports facility I frequently use and to obtain a water rescue qualification.”


A corporation official stated, “We will provide water safety education opportunities to users and support the improvement of their ability to respond to water safety situations.”


Meanwhile, the corporation announced that it will conduct new and refresher water rescue training quarterly through an agreement with the Korea Swimming Pool Operators Association.
