[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Jin-hyung] Nam-gu, Gwangju Metropolitan City, is publicly recruiting locations for the installation of two Dahamkke Care Centers to eliminate blind spots in elementary school student care and establish a community-centered care system.
According to Nam-gu on the 26th, a total of three Dahamkke Care Centers are planned to be established within the district this year, two of which will be installed through a public recruitment process.
The remaining one will be located within the Family Love Sharing and Community Self-Sufficiency Center, currently under construction in the Nodae-dong area.
The installation criteria for Dahamkke Care Centers require securing a dedicated area of at least 66㎡ and providing the space free of charge for 10 years. Restrooms may be installed externally only in unavoidable cases, but if shared, they are excluded from the dedicated area.
Nam-gu plans to select locations by May 10, prioritizing areas where service providers are insufficient compared to the elementary student care demand, based on big data analysis of care demand within the district.
In particular, for apartment complexes, areas with 500 or more households will be prioritized, and selected locations will grant benefits allowing children residing in the respective apartments to use the facilities within 70% of the capacity.
Selected locations for Dahamkke Care Centers will receive a one-time support of 70 million KRW for remodeling and equipment purchase, and annual personnel and operating expenses necessary for center operation will be provided.
For inquiries regarding the public recruitment of Dahamkke Care Center installation locations, contact the Child Welfare Division for detailed information.
Currently, four Dahamkke Care Centers are operating in the Hyochon 1 District within Nam-gu.
A Nam-gu official stated, “We will do our best to expand Dahamkke Care Center facilities to firmly establish a community-centered care system.”
