ActionPower Signs Business Partnership with Gong&Park to Jointly Develop Korean AI Technology

As K-content gains popularity overseas, the demand for Korean language learning among foreigners is increasing.

According to Gong&Park, which produces Korean language learning materials for foreigners, orders for textbooks from prestigious universities in the United States have been steadily increasing, and inquiries about Korean language education institutions and instructors are continuously coming in.

Accordingly, Gong&Park and Kong&Park USA, Inc., which develop and provide Korean language learning platforms for foreigners, signed a business partnership with AI voice recognition developer ActionPower on the 24th. They agreed to jointly develop and provide AI technology for all stages of Korean language learning for foreigners.

The two companies plan to apply AI technology to all stages of Korean language learning, including a Korean pronunciation correction engine, a learning management system (LMS), and a service provision platform, to enhance the current service level, which shows limitations in increasing the number of students mainly through online lectures and learning management, and provide it to overseas universities and institutions.

Users will be motivated to improve their skills by directly checking and correcting their pronunciation, while instructors and teachers will be able to provide customized learning guidance based on user data, reducing the time required for learning management and enabling them to teach more students.

Gong Kyung-yong, CEO of Gong&Park, said, “As the global spread of Hallyu, such as K-pop and K-dramas, has surged, the demand for foreigners to learn Korean has also increased. However, we focused on the problem that the number of Korean language education institutions and instructors is insufficient, limiting the increase in the number of students. If AI technology helps learners study Korean independently and assists teachers in academic management, it could make a groundbreaking contribution to the global dissemination of the Korean language.”

Cho Hong-sik, CEO of ActionPower, said, “Although AI voice processing technology has advanced considerably, this project is recognized by the development team as a fresh challenge due to its new perspective approach that has not yet been discovered. Despite the burden of developing and advancing a new engine, I am pleased to participate in this meaningful opportunity to contribute to the global spread of the Korean language.”
