24 Large Apartment Complexes Scheduled for Sale This Year... The Most in the Last 5 Years

[Asia Economy Reporter Hwang Seoyul] This year, 24 large apartment complexes with more than 2,000 households nationwide are scheduled to be offered for sale. Although major reconstruction and redevelopment projects in Seoul have postponed sales due to issues such as pricing and contractor changes, supply will focus on Gyeonggi Province and other regions.


According to real estate market analysis firm Real Estate Info on the 23rd, a total of 66,863 households in 24 large apartment complexes with more than 2,000 households (including pre-sold complexes) will be offered nationwide this year. Among them, the general sale volume excluding union members and rental units is 34,290 households. By year, there were 11 complexes in 2018, 10 in 2019, 9 in 2020, and 14 in 2021, making this year the highest number of complexes offered in the past five years.


By region, Gyeonggi has the most with 10 complexes, followed by Gyeongbuk with 4, Busan with 3, and Incheon with 3. In Seoul, the sales of major redevelopment projects such as Dunchon Jugong (12,032 households), Imun 1 District (3,069 households) and 3 District (4,321 households), Jamsil Jinju (2,678 households), Sinbanpo 4 District (3,307 households), and Bangbae 5 District (2,796 households) have become uncertain this year.


Hyundai Construction will launch ‘Hillstate Hwanho Park’ with 2,994 households this month in Pohang City, Gyeongbuk Province. The complex is close to schools such as Haemaji Elementary, Hanggu Elementary, and Daedo Middle School, and nearby shopping facilities include Hanaro Mart, Lotte Department Store, and Homeplus.


Doosan Enerbility plans to offer a total of 2,019 households in ‘Trimaje Suncheon’ Phase 1 and 2 next month in Suncheon City, Jeonnam Province. It is located near natural environments such as Bonghwasan, Ungbangsan, and Jorye Lake Park, as well as lifestyle infrastructure including NC Department Store and Homeplus.


‘Uiwang Xi SK View,’ being built in the Uiwang City area of Gyeonggi Province, is also expected to be offered within the year. This complex, supplied by a consortium of GS Construction and SK Ecoplant, will have 898 households available for general sale out of a total of 2,633 households.


In Gwangmyeong City, a consortium of GS Construction, POSCO Construction, and Hanwha Construction is preparing to offer Gwangmyeong 1 District (total 3,585 households), while a consortium of Hyundai Construction, GS Construction, and SK Ecoplant is preparing to offer Gwangmyeong 5 District (total 2,878 households) through redevelopment projects.
