[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Lee Seryeong] Changwon City in Gyeongnam Province will visit 36 major large-scale investment project sites by the 25th to inspect the progress of the projects.

The city is undertaking these inspections to revitalize the local construction economy, which has been stagnant due to the impact of COVID-19, and to promote balanced regional development, expand living infrastructure, and strengthen future competitiveness.

The projects include the expansion of Uichang Senior Welfare Center, installation of a unit sewage treatment plant in Gusan Ukgok-myeon, creation of Gwangryeocheon Hometown River, and the Chungmu District Urban Regeneration New Deal project.

The city plans to check the progress of each stage of the investment projects, listen to difficulties in execution, and strengthen field-centered, life-oriented administration, aiming to execute 1.1297 trillion won in the first half of the year.

Park Youngmi, the Budget Officer, said, “This is a time when a proactive and preemptive role of local finance is necessary to recover the local economy, which has been depressed due to the prolonged COVID-19 pandemic. We will accelerate the core investment projects with significant economic ripple effects to achieve results that citizens can feel and be satisfied with.”
