For Student-Centered Classes... Ulsan Office of Education Creates Shared Teaching Spaces in 20 Middle and High Schools Ulsan Office of Education.

[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Hwang Du-yeol] The Ulsan Metropolitan Office of Education is creating sharing spaces for classes in 20 middle and high schools to support student-centered instruction in school settings.

On the 22nd, the Office of Education held an orientation session for the staff in charge from the 20 schools selected to establish the class sharing spaces at the Oesol Conference Room.

The class sharing space project involves renovating spaces within schools to share and communicate information about teachers' curricula, lessons, and assessments, fostering mutual growth.

The name, size, and design of the spaces are creatively configured by reflecting the characteristics of each school and the opinions of its members.

Schools plan to utilize the class sharing spaces as areas for lesson research and sharing, online studios equipped with remote learning devices for on- and offline learning, spaces for lesson innovation training, counseling areas, and peer lesson guidance spaces to improve classroom instruction.

The Office of Education expects these spaces to be used for teacher training, consulting, and meetings, significantly contributing to strengthening teachers' subject expertise and student guidance skills for daily life recovery.

At the orientation, participants shared examples of establishing class sharing spaces and discussed ways to utilize them constructively.

A teacher who attended the orientation said, “It was a valuable opportunity to understand the direction for space renovation, budget usage, and utilization plans in detail, aligning with the fundamental purpose of the project.”

An official from the Ulsan Metropolitan Office of Education stated, “We hope the class sharing spaces will become a central foundation for future-oriented lesson innovation and a school culture focused on educational activity research,” adding, “We will continue to strengthen support for student-centered instruction that makes both students and teachers happy.”
