[Asia Economy Reporter Moon Hyewon] Korea Papa John's has taken steps to support women and vulnerable groups.
On the 22nd, Papa John's Pizza announced that it donated all the proceeds from pizza sales at the 'Sharing Market' held at Myeongdong Cathedral on the 17th to the Catholic Women's Association of the Seoul Archdiocese.
The Sharing Market is a bazaar organized to support neighbors in need. On the day of the event, Papa John's Pizza set up a Magic Car (pizza truck) near Myeongdong Cathedral and sold 100 hot pizzas (Super Papas) freshly made on-site to customers attending the event.
All proceeds from the pizza sales will be delivered to vulnerable groups through the Catholic Women's Association, including facilities for single mothers, shelters for women victims of domestic violence, shelters for children and youth from multicultural families, and free meal centers.
A representative from Korea Papa John's said, "We considered this a meaningful opportunity to help those in welfare blind spots, which is why we participated in this event," adding, "Going forward, Papa John's Pizza will continue to expand its positive influence and raise awareness for the culture of sharing through active cooperation with organizations and companies that share the same values, as well as through its own corporate social responsibility activities."
