Gwangju Dong-gu, Warm Gesture with Free Distribution of Eco-friendly Detergent (EM)

[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Jin-hyung] The Saemaeul Women's Association of Chungjang-dong, Dong-gu, Gwangju Metropolitan City announced on the 21st that it held a free distribution event of eco-friendly detergent (EM) for local residents.

EM is an eco-friendly substance composed and cultured with beneficial microorganisms such as lactic acid bacteria and homo, which prevents water pollution and can be used for various purposes in daily life such as odor removal and laundry.

This event was organized by the Dong-gu Saemaeul Women's Association (President Park Mi-sook) and was prepared with the purpose of preventing environmental pollution and fostering a love and care for the Earth through the free distribution of eco-friendly detergent.

President Lee Geum-sook said, "According to the United Nations (UN), abnormal weather phenomena are occurring frequently due to global warming, warning that the Earth is heading toward a place where it can no longer sustain life," adding, "The Chungjang-dong Saemaeul Women's Association plans to continuously promote this project to raise awareness of the importance of environmental protection."

Im Kyung-sook, head of Chungjang-dong, said, "The importance of environmental protection is not only a concern for our country but also a global issue directly related to the survival of humanity," and added, "I hope that the activation of eco-friendly EM use will serve as an opportunity for residents to actively take the lead and participate in environmental protection."
