‘Princess Mimi,’ the eternal friend of children, announced that it will hold various events throughout the year to celebrate its 40th anniversary.
Mimi, a name meaning “beautiful, beautiful,” was born in 1982 and is Korea’s first fashion doll, with a total of 36,670,550 units sold over 40 years.
In response, Mimi World Co., Ltd. is launching the 'Pink Dream Project' this year, the 40th anniversary, hoping that children will dream with pink imagination and look at the world with warm eyes along with Mimi.
In the first half of this year, the ‘Pink Dream Project,’ which fulfills children’s pink dreams of wanting to visit Princess Mimi’s house, brought joy to children, starting with the ‘Princess Mimi Room’ at Novotel Ambassador Dongdaemun.
Following this, Mimi’s signature house product, ‘Princess Mimi’s Pink House,’ was released, and the ‘Princess Mimi Party,’ where Mimi and her friends could meet and communicate online, was held. Forty children were invited to enjoy the party wearing beautiful dresses together with Mimi.
Moreover, marketing efforts are being expanded to communicate not only with children but also with adults who remember Mimi and the MZ generation. Collaborating with the fashion brand HAZZYS, a capsule collection inspired by the 2000s Y2K mood, the MIMI X HAZZYS collaboration products have received a hot response, and from April 25th for two weeks, the ‘Mimi Pop-up Store’ will operate at Goyang Starfield.
At the photo zones styled in retro and pop moods representing Mimi’s space, visitors can take perfect photos and find various Mimi products along with newly launched Mimi goods.
A representative from Mimi World stated, “In the summer season, the retro mood ‘Kind Friend Mimi,’ a limited product reproducing Mimi items released in the 1980s, will be sold, and in the second half of the year, we will continue to present products and events full of ‘Pink Dream.’ We ask for your continued interest in Mimi.”
