[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Hwang Du-yeol] A woman in her 40s who killed a male joint stock investor and disposed of the body in a pre-dug pit has been arrested.
According to the Busan Metropolitan Police Agency on the 20th, Ms. A is accused of causing the death of Mr. B, a man in his 50s who was her business partner, and disposing of the body in a friend's field in Yangsan, Gyeongnam.
The two were business partners and were recently involved in a dispute over debt issues amounting to hundreds of millions of won.
Ms. A called Mr. B around 8 p.m. on the 6th and committed the crime in a parking lot in Geumjeong-gu, Busan. She had pre-dug a pit in a friend's field, buried the body after the crime, and then returned home.
The police began investigating after receiving a report from Mr. B's family on the 7th, stating that he had left saying he was going to meet a friend but did not return.
Tracking Mr. B's whereabouts via CCTV, the police discovered on the 16th that Mr. B was buried dead in a field in Yangsan.
The police confirmed that Ms. A had recently dug the pit in the field using an excavator and identified her as a suspect, leading to her urgent arrest.
Ms. A initially denied the crime but confessed after police interrogation.
A police official stated, "Since the pit was dug in advance before the crime, it is considered a premeditated crime," and added, "The method and detailed motive of the crime are under investigation."
