Future Generations Encouraged to Care About 'Environment and Life'... Ulsan Office of Education Operates 'Earth Day' Climate Change Week Ulsan Office of Education.

[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Hwang Du-yeol] Ulsan Metropolitan Office of Education will operate a "Climate Change Week" from the 22nd to the 28th in celebration of the 52nd Earth Day.


During Climate Change Week, the Office of Education will carry out various activities to raise awareness of the seriousness of climate change and to practice climate actions in daily life.


Main events include Earth Day lights-off event, a book talk titled "Finding Alternatives in the Era of Climate Crisis," a 100-day challenge to lower classroom temperature by 1.5 degrees, a climate action campaigner contest, an eco-centered organizational culture certification photo contest for Ulsan Office of Education staff, and the "Orem Madang" practice group for climate crisis response classes in action.


The Office of Education posted promotional materials on its institutional website and provided educational materials related to Earth Day to encourage the Office, support offices, affiliated institutions, and schools to participate in the nationwide lights-off event for 10 minutes from 8 PM on Earth Day.


On the 27th, a book talk titled "Finding Pleasant Alternatives in the Era of Climate Crisis" will be held for teachers and professional staff to address climate crisis response, disposable product issues, and resource circulation alternatives.


To encourage participation in climate crisis response education in the field, support will also be provided to classes practicing the 100-day challenge to lower classroom temperature by 1.5 degrees.


The Office of Education plans to hold a "Student Climate Action Campaigner Contest" featuring GIF videos, infographics, pictograms, flash mobs, songs, and more for carbon neutrality and climate crisis response.


An official from the Office of Education said, "We are strengthening ecological environmental education to nurture ecological citizens who wisely solve the climate crisis," adding, "We will continue to support students, the future generation, to take responsible actions for the environment and life."
