[Asia Economy Reporter Yoo Hyun-seok] Korea Airports Corporation announced on the 19th that it will participate in the '21st World Security Expo (SECON)' held at KINTEX in Ilsan and exhibit the AI X-ray automatic reading system jointly developed with Deepnoid.
The corporation plans to set up a promotional booth at the exhibition site from the 20th to the 22nd, demonstrating the AI X-ray's performance in directly reading prohibited items for carry-on and information security items, thereby promoting the product's excellence and expanding sales channels.
The 'Aviation Security' AI X-ray automatic reading system detects prohibited items for carry-on as announced by the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport. The newly developed 'Corporate Security' system last year automatically reads information security items such as USBs and cameras, improving the accuracy of security checks within companies.
According to performance evaluations by the Korea Testing Laboratory, the corporate security system, recently supplied and commercialized to the Ministry of the Interior and Safety, showed a 97% reading rate, and the aviation security system, currently in pilot operation at Gimpo Airport, demonstrated a 95% reading rate, securing reliability. The corporation plans to expand the operational scope to Gimhae, Jeju, and Gwangju airports in the first half of the year, apply for designation as an innovative product (FT3) by the Public Procurement Service, and introduce performance certification to pioneer domestic and international markets.
Yoon Hyung-jung, President of Korea Airports Corporation, explained, "The intelligent X-ray automatic reading system effectively supports visual reading to minimize human error," adding, "It will contribute to improving the efficiency of security screening, such as enhancing the accuracy of security checks and the speed of baggage handling."
The World Security Expo is a global exhibition certified by the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy and is the only integrated security international exhibition in Asia. Last year, 350 companies from 19 countries participated. A total of 18,482 visitors from 55 countries attended.
