[Asia Economy Reporter Cha Min-young] It has been reported through overseas communities that Samsung Electronics' Galaxy smartphone saved the life of a Ukrainian soldier from Russian bullets.
According to the industry on the 19th, a video was recently posted on the American community site Reddit showing a Ukrainian soldier who was shot by Russian forces but survived thanks to a Galaxy smartphone blocking the bullet.
The video posted on Reddit's 'Ukraine War Video Report' board shows a Ukrainian soldier hiding behind cover taking a smartphone out of his pocket to show it. The bullet is lodged in the middle of the smartphone device after piercing through the outer case.
Based on the shape and size of the phone case in the video, the device is estimated to be either the 'Galaxy S21 FE' released earlier this year or the 2020 model 'Galaxy S20 Plus.'
The video has also spread on YouTube and other platforms. This news became a hot topic in domestic online communities under titles such as 'Galaxy that saved Ukrainian soldiers.'
