Gyeonggi-do Revises Researcher-Centered R&D Support Projects... Emphasizing Outcomes

[Asia Economy (Suwon) = Reporter Lee Young-gyu] Gyeonggi Province and the Gyeonggi Economic Science Promotion Agency are restructuring the 'Gyeonggi Province-type researcher-centered research and development (R&D) support project' by relaxing eligibility conditions and strengthening performance management.

With this restructuring, the researcher application requirement, which was previously limited to individuals, has been relaxed to allow participation in teams. The qualification for research support institutions has also been expanded from small and medium-sized enterprises to universities and national/public research institutions.

The use of research funds has been subdivided from personnel expenses to prototype production costs, research activity expenses, and research allowances as researcher incentives.

Regarding performance management measures, the previous general technical consultation support for researchers has been improved to provide close support through three months of technical and market consulting for excellently selected projects.

To practically verify research outcomes such as intellectual property rights, papers, and certified test reports of developed products created through research projects, a final evaluation system has been introduced.

The province plans to announce the recruitment for this year's support targets within this month. A total of 10 projects will be selected, each receiving 50 million won in support for one year. Detailed information can be found through EasyBiz.
