[Asia Economy Reporter Naju-seok] The People Power Party's Gyeonggi Province governor primary showed a mixed pattern. In a survey listing candidates for the Gyeonggi Province governor regardless of party affiliation and then asking for the preferred candidate, Rep. Kim Eun-hye of the People Power Party ranked first, but in the People Power Party's Gyeonggi governor primary, former Rep. Yoo Seung-min was ahead.

According to a public opinion poll conducted by the Korea Society Opinion Institute (KSOI) on 1,009 Gyeonggi residents from the 15th to 16th, commissioned by TBS, when asked who is the most suitable person for the Gyeonggi governor, Rep. Kim received 27.6%, former Deputy Prime Minister for Economy Kim Dong-yeon of the Democratic Party 22.1%, and former Rep. Yoo 18.9%.

In a separate survey asking only about the suitability of People Power Party candidates for Gyeonggi governor, former Rep. Yoo received 36.6% support, surpassing Rep. Kim who received 32.1%. This differs from the multi-candidate scenario where Rep. Kim ranked first. It appears that former Rep. Yoo's 40.4% support among centrist voters, ahead of Rep. Kim's 30.5%, influenced this result. KSOI stated, "This is somewhat different from the multi-candidate scenario including Democratic Party and independent candidates, where Rep. Kim led former Rep. Yoo beyond the margin of error."

However, examining the trend among People Power Party supporters in this question shows a different movement. Among People Power Party supporters, Rep. Kim received 59.2%, far ahead of former Rep. Yoo's 31.4%. It appears that Rep. Kim leads in party sentiment, while former Rep. Yoo leads in public sentiment. The People Power Party primary is conducted with 50% party members and 50% general public survey.

In the Democratic Party preliminary candidate primary, former Deputy Prime Minister Kim received 28.2%, Rep. Ahn Min-seok of the Democratic Party 16%, former Suwon Mayor Yeom Tae-young 10.4%, and Rep. Jo Jeong-sik 6.1%.

Meanwhile, this poll was conducted 100% via wireless automated response method using safe numbers provided by the National Election Commission, with a sampling error of ±3.1 percentage points at a 95% confidence level.
