[Asia Economy Reporter Donghyun Choi] Healing Paper, the operator of the medical beauty platform Gangnam Unnie, announced on the 18th that the cumulative number of procedure reviews within the application surpassed 1 million this month.
The cumulative number of reviews on Gangnam Unnie increased 2.5 times compared to 400,000 in the same period last year. Any user registered on Gangnam Unnie can write honest reviews about their experiences visiting dermatology or plastic surgery clinics.
Gangnam Unnie focuses on eradicating fake reviews written by clinics for promotional purposes. In January last year, they introduced a receipt verification review method to prove genuine user reviews. All reviews, including receipt-verified ones, are monitored by the Gangnam Unnie operations team for information reliability and authenticity.
Additionally, Gangnam Unnie issues warnings to clinics that violate medical laws by offering discounts or other incentives for writing reviews. They conduct thorough post-monitoring by surveying all users who visited clinics regarding the accuracy of medical advertisements and satisfaction with the clinics.
Last month, Gangnam Unnie's monthly active users (MAU) exceeded 400,000 based on the mobile advertising measurement service AppsFlyer. So far, users have submitted 1.6 million hospital consultation requests through the Gangnam Unnie app.
Hong Seung-il, CEO of Healing Paper, stated, “Going forward, Gangnam Unnie plans to further enhance functions and policies that increase the reliability of not only medical advertisements but also user review content. We will strive to enable more users to make reasonable medical consumption suitable for themselves through comprehensive medical information such as accurate non-insurance medical prices and other users’ reviews.”
