[Asia Economy Reporter Naju-seok] On the 17th, Woo Sang-ho, a member of the Democratic Party of Korea, urged Lee Kwang-jae, a member of the same party, to run as a candidate for Governor of Gangwon Province.
On that day, Woo said through social media (SNS), "As the local elections approach, the candidate lineups for metropolitan government heads are being completed one after another. However, my hometown Gangwon Province is still in the dark," adding, "No one from the Democratic Party has applied as a candidate."
He said, "Since most members of the Democratic Party want Lee Kwang-jae to run, it can be interpreted that the position has been left open. Now that he is in his second year as a member of the National Assembly, asking him to run for governor is regrettable for both him and the citizens of Wonju. However, I believe there is no one better than Lee Kwang-jae for the development of Gangwon Province."
Woo said, "There are few people in South Korea who have experience in the Blue House, National Assembly, and Gangwon Provincial Office and are full of creative ideas," adding, "I hope Lee Kwang-jae will take responsibility for Gangwon Province's administration and contribute more significantly to South Korea's development."
He said, "Although the environment is difficult, I would like to ask Lee Kwang-jae to make a decisive decision."
