[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Heeyoon] Director Park Chan-wook's film 'Decision to Leave' has been selected for the competition section at the Cannes International Film Festival.
On the 14th (local time), the Secretariat of the 75th Cannes International Film Festival held a press conference and announced the official invited films.
'Decision to Leave,' directed by Park, was named in the competition section announced by the Cannes Film Festival Executive Committee on the same day.
'Decision to Leave' depicts the story that begins when detective Hae-joon (Park Hae-il), investigating a suspicious death in the mountains, meets the deceased's wife Seo-rae (Tang Wei) and feels both suspicion and interest. The cast includes Park Hae-il, Tang Wei, Lee Jung-hyun, Go Kyung-pyo, and Park Yong-woo.
Director Park previously received the Jury Prize at Cannes in 2004 for 'Oldboy' and the Jury Award in 2009 for 'Thirst.' In 2016, he was invited to the competition section with 'The Handmaiden.'
The 75th Cannes International Film Festival will be held in Cannes, France, from May 17 to 28.
