Dongmyeong University and Beatle Sign Agreement on 'Service Learning for Adult Learners' Dongmyung University and Beatle officials are taking a commemorative photo after signing an agreement on implementing service learning for adult learners and revitalizing the local community network.

[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Hwang Du-yeol] Dongmyung University signed an agreement with Beetle, which operates the container-type complex living culture space Beacon Ground, on the 14th at the Beacon Ground office regarding the implementation of service learning for adult learners and the activation of local community networks.

Through the agreement, Dongmyung University’s Future Convergence College Regional Future Center and Beetle will activate service learning for adult learners, campus resource revitalization and educational cultural services, community-based educational cultural service convergence cooperative volunteering, cooperation with local governments in the southeastern region on lifelong education policies, and support for field training and learning.

Students majoring in Child and Adolescent Counseling at the university will learn how to use 3D printers and basic modeling from experts in two sessions starting on the 18th.

From May, there will be three sessions of ‘service learning for adult learners’ activities where participants can experience creating their own characters using 3D pens, basic 3D tool modeling, and 3D printing output.

Park Soo-young, head of the Regional Future Center, said, “We will develop and operate various experiential education programs for children and adolescents in the Busan area in connection with various local institutions.”

The container-type complex living culture space ‘B-Con (Busan Contain)’ under the Suyeong overpass opened in November 2020 and includes cultural and exhibition facilities, resident community facilities, family rest facilities, commercial facilities, and performance and event facilities.

Dongmyung University has been actively conducting service learning, which integrates service and learning, for several years.

The Dongmyung University Regional Future Center operates field-centered non-degree programs such as adult learner-type living labs that solve local problems, smart device usage methods, tea and meditation, and Eastern psychological counseling to strengthen the university’s social role.
