Suncheon Fire Station Seeks Artifacts Containing the History of Firefighting

[Suncheon=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Lee Hyung-kwon] The Jeonnam Suncheon Fire Station (Chief Ha Soo-cheol) announced on the 14th that it will conduct a campaign to find artifacts embodying the history of firefighting to be exhibited at the National Fire Museum, which is under construction and scheduled to open in 2024.

The campaign to collect and donate firefighting artifacts is being promoted to discover materials containing the hidden history of firefighting nationwide, register them as museum collections, preserve them, and thereby re-examine the history of firefighting.

The target items for collection (donation) are those related to the history, incidents, figures, and organizations of firefighting, judged to have preservation value, or with clear sources that contain historical significance and stories of firefighting.

They do not necessarily have to be old or have economic value; anyone nationwide can participate in donations as long as the items, regardless of size or type?from photos and clothing to small badges?contain stories of firefighting.

To participate, visit the Firefighting Artifact Data Center, click on ‘Collection Artifact Donation Campaign,’ download the ‘Firefighting Artifact Donation Application Form,’ fill it out, and submit it by mail or email. For related inquiries, contact the National Fire Museum of the Fire Agency.

Donors will receive a donation certificate, a plaque of appreciation, invitations to the exhibition opening ceremony, and other honors and benefits. Donated artifacts will be permanently preserved as museum collections and used as educational materials.
