Robert Wizneski Appointed as Vice President and Developer of Supercomputing Technology
[Asia Economy Reporter Sunmi Park] Samsung Electronics has recruited an expert who has been in charge of supercomputing technology development at IBM and Intel as a vice president.
According to industry sources on the 14th, Samsung Electronics appointed Robert Wizneski, who has been responsible for supercomputing technology development at IBM and Intel, as a vice president. Vice President Wizneski will lead the System Architecture Research Lab at Samsung Advanced Institute of Technology (SAIT) in the United States starting this month.
He stated on his SNS LinkedIn, "I am pleased to lead the U.S. system research lab with Samsung SAIT," adding, "I will focus on overcoming memory and communication technology barriers existing in the fields of artificial intelligence (AI) and high-performance computing (HPC)." He also expressed his intention to recruit talent by saying, "We are looking for passionate technology leaders."
Vice President Wizneski is an expert with supercomputing and software design capabilities. He worked at IBM for 15 years from 1997 to 2012, and has been responsible for HPC technology and software design at Intel for 10 years from 2012 to this year.
