[Asia Economy Reporter Naju-seok] President-elect Yoon Seok-yeol will visit the Federation of Korean Trade Unions (FKTU) on the 15th.

According to the Presidential Transition Committee on the 14th, President-elect Yoon will visit the FKTU tomorrow afternoon and hold a meeting with Chairman Kim Dong-myeong. This visit draws attention as it is the first time President-elect Yoon meets with the labor sector since winning the presidential election.

At this meeting, issues such as the minimum wage, working hours, and reduction of irregular workers are expected to be discussed.

During his presidential campaign, President-elect Yoon visited the FKTU and expressed support for the time-off system for public officials and teachers' unions, as well as the labor director system in public institutions. This stance differed from the official position of the People Power Party. The labor director system in public institutions has even passed through the National Assembly.

The FKTU previously met with officials from the Social Welfare and Culture Division of the Transition Committee on the 30th of last month, requesting that President-elect Yoon visit the FKTU and listen to the opinions of the labor sector.

Meanwhile, civil society and labor groups have criticized the fact that President-elect Yoon has met with business circles but has not engaged with the labor sector.
