[Hwasun=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Ji-woon] On the 14th, Hwasun-gun, Jeollanam-do announced that it will operate the ‘Water Supply Leakage Report Reward System’ to prevent water supply leakage accidents and water wastage.
The Water Supply Leakage Report Reward System is a program that provides a reward (20,000 KRW worth of Hwasun Love Gift Certificates) to residents who first report the location of water supply leakage.
When a leakage report is received, the water supply leakage is verified, repair work is conducted, and after review, the reward is given to the first reporter.
The reward is paid collectively on a monthly basis.
However, leaks occurring at construction sites or caused by the user’s private water supply pipes are excluded from the reward.
Leakage reports can be made to the Water Management Team of the Water and Sewage Business Office at the county office.
A county official stated, “Prompt reporting and response are important to minimize secondary damage caused by leaks,” and added, “We will do our best to improve the convenience of residents’ lives through swift action.”
Meanwhile, as of the end of last year, the county took follow-up measures on 61 leakage reports from residents and paid a total of 1.22 million KRW in rewards.
