"Aloha!"... Kyochon Chicken Heads to Hawaii

"Aloha!"... Kyochon Chicken Heads to Hawaii

[Asia Economy Reporter Moon Hyewon] Kyochon F&B announced on the 14th that it has signed a franchise agreement for the Hawaii region.

This agreement is a multi-unit franchise contract for the Hawaii region, signed between Kyochon Franchise LLC, a subsidiary of Kyochon F&B's U.S. corporation, and BMH LLC (hereinafter BMH), the Hawaii subsidiary of BMK, a distribution specialist company. A multi-unit franchise grants a single franchisee (corporation) the right to open multiple stores in one area, which is more efficient in terms of operation and management compared to individual franchises.

BMH, the contract partner, not only has various distribution networks in the state of Hawaii, USA, but also has a high level of understanding of the U.S. franchise business, so Kyochon expects to successfully establish the Kyochon brand in Hawaii.

The first store is scheduled to open in the Kiamoku area of Honolulu, aiming for an opening within this year.

Kyochon plans to use this entry into Hawaii as a stepping stone for expanding its franchise business within the United States. Currently, Kyochon operates only direct management businesses through its U.S. corporation, but starting with Hawaii, it plans to promote franchise business on the U.S. mainland in the future.

Sojinse, Chairman of Kyochon F&B, said, “Hawaii is a region with high dining expenditure within the U.S. and a world-renowned resort destination, making it an ideal place to promote the Kyochon brand not only in the U.S. but also in other countries,” adding, “Starting with the Hawaii franchise business, we plan to actively pursue franchise business on the U.S. mainland.”

Meanwhile, since signing a master franchise (MF) agreement in the Middle East last year, Kyochon has accelerated its overseas expansion as a leading K-chicken company, opening three stores in Dubai alone. As of now, it operates a total of 68 overseas stores in six countries (USA, China, UAE, Thailand, Malaysia, Indonesia).
