[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Dongguk Lee] Starting April 16, the Donghae Nambu Line metropolitan train service between Busan Bujeon Station and Ulsan Taehwagang Station will be increased by 6 trips per day on weekends, holidays, and public holidays.

This increase is due to the expected rise in passengers using the Donghae Nambu Line metropolitan train following the full opening of 'Lotte World Adventure' in the Osiria Tourist Complex, Gijang-gun, Busan, on the 11th, aiming to enhance passenger convenience.

In fact, when 'Lotte World Adventure' partially opened on March 31, weekend and holiday metropolitan train passengers increased by 65% at Osiria Station and 17% at Taehwagang Station.

Especially from this weekend, the number of metropolitan train passengers is expected to increase further due to the full opening.

Korea Railroad Corporation analyzed the demand for metropolitan train use and was reviewing the addition of temporary trains. Following a visit and request from Ulsan City to Korea Railroad Corporation on March 4, the decision to increase train operations was made.

The number of trains will be increased by 6 trips per day, with 3 trips each in the up and down directions on weekends, holidays, and public holidays.

The increased train times are as follows: down direction (Bujeon Station → Taehwagang Station) at 8:48 AM, 1:00 PM, and 4:00 PM; up direction (Taehwagang Station → Bujeon Station) at 10:20 AM, 2:32 PM, and 5:30 PM, adding trains during peak passenger times.

Accordingly, the intervals between trains during these additional times will be shortened from about 30 minutes to 15 minutes.

An Ulsan City official stated, “We are continuously analyzing the usage status of the Donghae Nambu Line metropolitan train to improve passenger convenience and will strive to minimize any inconvenience for citizens using the metropolitan train.”

As of now, the Donghae Nambu Line metropolitan train operates 89 times on weekdays and 86 times on weekends and holidays based on Taehwagang Station. Starting this weekend, with the 6 additional trips on weekends and holidays, it will operate 92 times daily, allowing spring outing passengers to use the service more comfortably.
