According to the Ministry of Employment and Labor, around 2:30 PM that day, installation technician A, in his 30s, who was inspecting an air conditioner outdoor unit installed on the exterior wall of the 5th floor of a commercial building in Songpa-gu, fell 12 meters and died.
A was reported to belong to Hi-EM Solutec, a maintenance service subsidiary of LG Electronics. Hi-EM Solutec has more than 50 regular employees and is subject to the "Serious Accidents Punishment Act".
The Ministry of Employment and Labor is investigating the cause of the accident and whether there were any violations of the Serious Accidents Punishment Act or the Industrial Safety and Health Act.
