Gwangju Regional Tax Office Signs Business Agreement with Multicultural Family Support Center

[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Jin-hyung] The Gwangju Regional Tax Office signed a business agreement on the 11th with family centers located in the five districts of Gwangju Metropolitan City to enhance tax information accessibility for multicultural families vulnerable to tax information and to protect the rights and interests in national tax administration.

Through this business agreement, the Gwangju Regional Tax Office and the family centers in the five districts of Gwangju Metropolitan City plan to establish an organic cooperation system as follows to provide tax support for multicultural families.

Both organizations will provide various statistical data and diverse tax information necessary for supporting multicultural families, add the other organization's educational content to their respective training programs, and support each other's instructors when needed.

Additionally, the family centers will provide interpretation services that multicultural families who have difficulty speaking Korean can use effectively when visiting tax offices for issuing various certificates, and both organizations will cooperate mutually to resolve tax-related difficulties and suggestions.

They also decided to jointly promote their support policies through published booklets and websites, and to strengthen cooperation for various other forms of family support.

Before signing the business agreement, the Gwangju Regional Tax Office provided detailed guidance on taxpayer rights protection systems such as the Taxpayer Protection Officer System, the Support Group for Small Taxpayers, the Tax Points System, and the Court-Appointed Agent System to the family centers located in the five districts of Gwangju Metropolitan City.

Lee Pan-sik, Commissioner of the Gwangju Regional Tax Office, emphasized active tax administration support and communication, stating, “I hope this agreement will serve as an opportunity for both organizations to make greater efforts to revitalize support for multicultural families.”

Going forward, the Gwangju Regional Tax Office plans to expand and promote business agreements with family centers located in Jeollanam-do and Jeollabuk-do, and will strive to provide substantial national tax administrative services, including beneficial tax information for multicultural families.
