[Asia Economy Reporter Bu Aeri] The Presidential Transition Committee announced on the 11th that President-elect Yoon Seok-yeol has not made any statement regarding the complete removal of the prosecution's investigative authority (Geomsuwanbak).
Won Il-hee, the chief deputy spokesperson of the transition committee, said in a briefing that afternoon, "President-elect Yoon's focus is solely on stabilizing people's livelihoods, economic development, and strong security," adding, "He is fully concentrating on the new government's national administration plan to achieve these goals."
He continued, "The relevant Political, Judicial, and Administrative Affairs Subcommittee is closely monitoring the situation in the National Assembly," and stated, "There is significant public concern over the Democratic Party of Korea's attempt to forcibly pass a critical issue that shakes the foundation of the judicial system."
