"Creating a Year-Round Day and Night Play Space" ... Jinju City Inspects Water Facilities at Mulchoul Park Retention Basin Mayor Jo Gyu-il is inspecting the site of the water landscape facility installation construction at Mulchoul Park retention basin.

[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Choi Soon-kyung] Jinju City, Gyeongnam Province, conducted a final inspection of the water feature installation site at Mulchooul Park retention basin in Chungmugong-dong.

The water feature at Mulchooul Park retention basin is a 100㎡ scale fountain with a project cost of 700 million KRW. The water tank contains 37 nozzles, and the central nozzle is a fountain that shoots up to 40 meters high.

This fountain is equipped with underwater lighting facilities, allowing it to operate at night as well.

In 2021, Jinju City invested a total of 2.9 billion KRW, including 1 billion KRW from the provincial government and 1.9 billion KRW from the city, to create a complex play space at Mulchooul Park on a 10,000㎡ site with low usage, aiming to build a "city of education where children are happy."

LH invested 3 billion KRW to create water play facilities at Mulchooul, providing a year-round play space for children.

Additionally, a total of 1.6 billion KRW, including 300 million KRW in special grants and 1.3 billion KRW from the city, was invested to open a pedestrian bridge connecting Geumsan-myeon and Chungmugong-dong. This connected previously disconnected walking trails and received great response from residents.

With the completion of this water feature, the city will conclude the development of Mulchooul Park.

A city official stated, "After completing the final inspection, we will start full-scale operation of the fountain within this month and operate the nighttime lighting facilities until October. It will be a diverse and attractive park offering various sights."
