Expressed Opinions During Meeting with Press Ahead of Concert
[Las Vegas (USA) = Asia Economy Reporter Kim Heeyoon] Jin, a member of the group BTS, drew attention by directly expressing his stance on military service.
On the 9th (local time), before the 'BTS PERMISSION TO DANCE ON STAGE LAS VEGAS' performance held at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas, Jin shared his thoughts during a meeting with reporters.
Earlier that morning, at a HYBE press conference, Lee Jinhyung, HYBE CCO, stated, “Since the submission of the Military Service Act amendment bill, all BTS members have been consulting with the company and have entrusted the company with decisions related to military service.” In response, Jin said, “We have agreed to entrust the company, so I think what the company says is essentially what we say.”
The CCO explained at the conference, “The artists (BTS members) have repeatedly expressed their willingness to respond to the country's call in the past, and that remains unchanged. It is true that the continuous changes in the military service system and the difficulty in predicting the timing are causing hardship for the artists.”
He added, “Since it is difficult for them to make their own plans, we intend to reach a conclusion that benefits both our society and the artists,” emphasizing, “We hope that the National Assembly will promptly discuss the amendment to the Military Service Act this time.”
The Allegiant Stadium, where the 'BTS PERMISSION TO DANCE ON STAGE LAS VEGAS' concert is held, has a capacity of 65,000 seats. All tickets for this concert sold out within one day after sales began in March. BTS will meet fans on stage four times in total: on the 8th, 9th, 15th, and 16th.
